Enhancement of Wood Coating Properties by Adding Silica Sol to UV-Curable Waterborne Acrylics

In recent years, with the development of coating industry and increasing awareness environmental protection, modification waterborne wood coatings has become focus research. Generally, system composed silica sol UV curing can make up for defects poor mechanical properties, low hardness, slow speeds coatings. Herein, we used sol-reinforced UV-curable acrylic tested related physical properties FT-IR analysis showed that Si-O-Si bond appeared, indicating was successfully grafted onto molecular chain. The results film reached their optimum when content 1 wt%, number lamps 3, drying time 20 min. corresponding values wear resistance, adhesion, impact strength were 0.106 g (high level), grade 90 kg·cm, respectively.
